I dare to interprete as follows:

'a man'   = Jesus
'enemies' = SS.

This guy called Jesus
had got a great problem:

He was hanging fixed on his wooden
cross - since about 2000 years.
Furthermore he was dead.

(The soft-chistians don't understand
that the crucifix - as patchwork
of a cross and a dead hanging jesus -
can't properly interpreted as a
symbol of a resurrected(!)
living(!) jesus).

I assume that in the church of
Oradour-Sur-Glane, which can be
considered as a 'empty christian catacomb',
there was - at least - one wooden crucifix.

At the day of the massacre the flames
in this church caused the death of the
victims inside making it to a kind of 'filled'
'grave' or 'catacomb'.
(JThus jesus became a human corpse, too.)

I assume that no part of any interior
jesus-figure 'survived' the destruction
of this church.

Thus we can imagine a resurrected jesus
walking out off the remaining ruin
- after maybe 3 days.

(The unfortunate deaths of the victims
would have been his 'ticket' to his
resurrection and freedom.)

The fact that Diekmann drove
the children and women into the
church of the village looks like
jesus's gathering of
'his sheeps' around him.

Instead of acting as a 'good shepherd'
- as he is seen by the soft-christians -
and thus protecting them
he gave them away to the flames.
